Nautica is known for their bedding, clothes, and fragrances. I had never known that they also make beach umbrellas and other beach gear. Being that I usually find Nautica products to be of high quality and to be durable, I decided to bite the bullet and buy the Nautica rainbow beach umbrella from a local department store.  For the money, I feel this product was worth it.

The Product:

The Nautica beach umbrella with SPF 50+ has a rainbow pattern. This is what initially attracted me to this specific umbrella. I like bright, vibrant, and unique designs when it comes to my beach gear. I prefer brightly colored items because it makes it easier for me to find my area on the beach when I am coming out of the ocean or after I am done taking a stroll on the seaside.

The Nautica umbrella also has a silver undercoating that is used to protect the skin from the harmful rays of the sun, It also boasts vented covers that keeps the umbrella grounded and in place. It has a power twist base, 2-way tilt base, and it is rust resistant.

When the umbrella is in its upright position it measures approximately 7 feet tall. The height of the umbrella is important if you happen to be taller or if you have someone in your group that is tall. It also includes a carrying case which makes it easy to pack up and travel with. It’s lightweight and can be installed within 5 minutes.

The Pros:

The Nautica beach umbrella has a ton of different pros. First off, being that it is larger in size it is sufficient for 3-4 people to fit under. I typically bring this umbrella when I go to the beach with a group of friends and there’s always enough surface area to cover all of our bodies. As I mentioned previously, it is rust resistant. Many other metal umbrellas tend to rust over time if they’re exposed to outdoor environments. You needn’t worry about that issue with the Nautica umbrella.

The Nautica beach umbrella has an SPF coating of 50+. This is probably the most important aspect of the umbrella as its main purpose is to protect you from the sun. When sitting under this umbrella, you can be sure that you will not get sunburned. It’s also very simple to put together. All you need to do is take the pieces out of their carrying case, screw the metal tube into the actual umbrella fitting and place it deep into the sand. It’s easy enough for one person to put together without any assistance. Taking it apart is as easy as pie!

Being that is comes with a compact carrying case, it is easy to stuff into a packed vehicle with beach gear and it is also easy to carry from one place to another. It’s very lightweight and will not put any pressure on your back or shoulders. It is also a very inexpensive umbrella that comes with a brand name. It typically sells for around $45.00 on Amazon and in major department stores. There’s nothing better than getting a product that is high quality and one that doesn’t break the bank.

The Cons:

While the Nautica beach umbrella is a high quality umbrella for a fraction of the price that other name brand umbrellas sell for, it still does have some flaws. The fabric that the umbrella is made of should be a bit more high quality. I have accidentally poked a hole in the fabric while I was setting the umbrella up. I find that the fabric is not very resistant and can be damaged very easily.

Secondly, the Nautica umbrella is a bit bulky when it is set up. It may look different than other umbrellas on the beach because it is massive. I also think this is due to the fact that is sits lower to the ground than many other umbrellas sit. In order to take care of this issue you may not want to dig the stakes into the ground as deep as you usually would. The deeper the stakes, the closer the umbrella comes to the ground. However, make sure it’s not a very windy day when you do this or else you would need to worry about the umbrella coming undone and flying away.

I would recommend this product to others beach goers. Particularly, those who are not frequent beach goers. This umbrella does its job for a few different shore trips but definitely will not last you an entire summer season if it’s being used every weekend.
